Dear Friends & Family,

Merry Christmas!  I hope this letter finds you well and not too hurried.  Go get a cup of tea and find a comfy seat in which to sit, relax and savor the sweetness of relaxing and reading.  (Yes, hot chocolate is fine too.)  Well, we’re all going to share some of our best memories from 2007 with you.  Enjoy!

LARA:  Emily on motorcycleOne of my best memories from this year is when we were at Niagara Falls in August.  We’d walked along the sidewalk to view the falls and were all resting under some large shade trees amidst beautifully landscaped flowers.  The kids were running around, pouncing on Dan, and playing tag.  I cherish moments when we’re all together having fun.  It is rewarding to watch the older kids look after the younger ones – to see maturity, thoughtfulness and good-natured fun.  (Rare moments are cherished more deeply :-))

EMILY:  This past year I enjoyed game night.  I surveyed my family so that I could report to you everybody’s favorite game.  The first person to guess all seven of us correct wins a ½ pound Hershey’s bar!  E-mail your guesses to roseeg@epix.net .  Contest begins December 28th at 7 am EST.  :-)  (Here’s Emily on her first date – a Moo Cow meeting at Chick-Fil-A with Grandpa!)image002b.jpg

MARCI: One of my favorite memories of this past year is when we harvested the last remnants of our garden. I remember it was a crisp fall day, the kind of day when it is chilly in the morning and warm and lazy in the afternoon. There wasn’t a cloud in the sky when Daddy drove his skid-steer up into the garden. We marched up the hill with buckets in hand and started picking. When we realized that all of the vegetables wouldn’t fit into the buckets, we started putting them into the bucket of Daddy’s CAT. All of the little buckets, and the one big bucket were full of squash, zucchini, watermelons, butternut squash, acorn squash, and both big and little pumpkins. Daddy drove the CAT down to our deck and we unloaded the garden’s products onto our deck, making an attractive “Happy Harvest” arrangement.

JARED:  I liked playing soccer this year. image008.jpgI went with my mom and got to see my teammates.  I smelled the fresh-cut grass.  I listened to my coach.  I was happy because I got to be the goalie.  The best part was my party when I got to eat pizza!

BRIELLA:  I went to Niagara Falls and my family went with me.  I saw these big waves crashing down and boats going in the river below us.  I smelled the fresh air.  I felt water sprinkles from the mist.  I didn’t like getting all wet.  The best part was when we were next to the tree chasing each other.   At the campground I liked the pool and going under the buckets that poured water on us. I heard people talking next to our tent.  Daddy called their puppy an alarm clock.  I tasted great scrambled eggs.  The best part about camping was taking a bike ride to the playground.image010.jpg

TITUS:  I liked going with Daddy and staying at the hotel.  I like movie night.

DAN (by Briella): I celebrated my 40th birthday this year!  I like riding in my CAT and cutting up deer meat.

Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a great 2008!  May you know Jesus more fully – our light, peace & hope.

Love,
The Roses
